At The Sequoia, you’ll be staying in typical Franche-Comté style. Within the historic district that includes the protestant parsonage, the heart of the village, the gîte has maintained the warm and original agricultural style of the region. The barn, with its central gathering or dining room, is traditional, with its sloped roof, characteristic of the buildings of the region. The architect has maintained the structure in three parts, with two stables on each side of the central space, where the farmer distributed hay from the barn’s loft. Today, the loft serves as sleeping rooms, much more comfortable than sleeping on hay !
The bath and shower block next to the barn is convenient and functional. The passageway connects the parsonage and the barn, with an adjacent kitchen. The kitchen is completely equipped, ideal for preparing meals for tired hikers, and for group meals with (or without) regional specialties like Montbéliard sausages, roestis (hash brown potatoes), and cancoillotte cheese with white wine.
The buildings are surrounded by woods with a fenced courtyard in front, where young and old can enjoy the sun, the sound of the Durot fountain and the church bells that ring out the hour, making wristwatches completely unnecessary!
